      \n\n2. DIVINE ORIGIN OF TULSI<\/b><\/a><\/h4>\n\n\n\n

      \nAccording to the \n\nPadma Purana<\/b><\/a> and \n\nSkanda Purana, <\/b><\/a>Tulsi was born as \n\nVrinda,<\/b><\/a> a devoted wife of the demon king Jalandhar. Her \n\ndeep devotion and chastity gave her husband immense strength.<\/b><\/a> When \n\nLord Vishnu, <\/b><\/a>in order to restore cosmic balance, took the form of Jalandhar to defeat him, Vrinda\u2019s faith was tested. After realizing what happened, \n\nVrinda cursed Vishnu to become stone (hence the Shaligram Shila)<\/b><\/a> and then immolated herself in fire. From her ashes sprouted the sacred Tulsi plant, and \n\nVishnu declared that no worship of Him would be complete without Tulsi leaves.<\/b><\/a>\n

      \nThus, Tulsi came to be worshipped as a \n      \ngoddess who embodies purity, love, and surrender.<\/b><\/a>\n\n\n<\/p>\n\n\n\n
